Coach Long - HS Head Cross Country Coach
I love running and art. I am very lucky to have found jobs of a cross-country coach and an art teacher that are my passions.
I began my sports career trying tennis and my coach suggested I look at track. I must have been a very bad tennis player or was running after the ball too much. From then on, I have been running ever since. I set junior high and high school records in the half mile, mile, and the 4x800 relay. Of course, these records have all been broken. My freshman year was when I began cross-country when a cute boy suggested I try it. However, there wasn't a girl's team. So, the year of 1981 was when Lima Senior had it's first girl run cross-country! That year I had to run on the boy's team and was the 5th "man." The following year a girl's team was established. After high school, I went to Bowling Green State University and did not pursue college sports, but did not give up running.
I have run over a dozen marathons with one being the Boston Marathon. Also, I have done several triathlons including a half-ironman placing first in the Master's group.
I want to instill how important it is to stay active and lead a healthy lifestyle to everyone that I coach.

I have been coaching for about 20 plus years in all and I also coach club soccer in the spring with Ohio extreme Soccer Club. My hobbies away from soccer include hiking, golf, fishing and I love to cook. I love working for Allen East and have made many lasting memories along the way.
