9-12 Principal

Welcome back to the 2016/2017 school year.  I hope the summer was relaxing and enjoyable.

This year every student in grades 9-12 will have a Chromebook (laptop computer) to use. The students will be able to take the Chromebook home each evening. A critical piece with having a laptop is the charging of the device every evening. As more and more content is placed in a digital format, students will need a fully charged Chromebook each day. In August, times will be announced for parents and students to come in a get an overview of the Chromebook. You will leave that evening with the device.

Our school day will run the same time as last year 7:50-3:05.

Students can park in the main activity lot and the lot area by the football stadium.  The west lot will remain as the bus drop off and loading area.  No parking or vehicle traffic during the school day will be permitted in this lot. The A1, B1 and B3 entrances will all be points of entry for student drivers prior to the start of first period.  Any 9-12 student riding a bus will still be able to enter the building at the end of the high school wing.  After 7:53 all students arriving to school will have to enter the A1 entrance by the high school office or at the elementary office entrance and check in the office for attendance.  This includes any college credit plus students, students arriving late or students arriving late due to appointments.

Please welcome our two new staff members.  Mr. Slade Denman will be our 5-12 instrumental music director and leader of the Brass. He is a graduate of Ohio University and was part of their “Marching 110” a show style band.  He brings a lot of energy and excitement, as a recent graduate, and is looking forward to continuing the tradition of excellence with all levels of our instrumental program.  Mr. Miguel Aular will be our 7-12 Spanish teacher. Mr. Aular is originally from Venezuela and has been working with several Putnam county schools the past two years.  He taught in Venezuela prior to coming to the United States. He brings a wealth of knowledge of South American culture and language.

As always if you have any questions comments or concerns please contact me.  Thank you.
